Bon Appetit Paris

A Guide to Eating and Living in Europe's Most Stylish City

Mara Grimm

This is a delightful and informative book written by a woman who has lived in Paris for some time now. She enjoys food and writes about it. The book introduces us to the different types of restaurants - from Michelin starred to your regular neighborhood restaurants. These are listed by Arrondissement which are different neighborhoods of Paris. She also gives the addresses as well which is truly helpful. We learn about the French people and how they enjoy their food and appreciate the freshness of everything they eat which is key. As most have very small kitchens, they eat out a lot and/or buy what they need for a dinner which is ready made. Their meals and snack times are numerous throughout the day. Food is abundant and fresh everywhere in Paris and there are restaurants with other cuisines that French. Chefs are very proud of their food and it is always excellent. French people do not overeat which is why they are quite slender. They choose good food and don’t overindulge. They dress nicely but not overly glamorous for going out for meals. I was so pleased with this book and it brought back many memories for me as I have lived in this glorious city for six years and experienced the delicious food offered. I do hope that if readers are thinking of taking a trip to Paris, do read this book to familiarize yourself with the city and what to expect at all of the many, many wonderful restaurants. And remember to just enjoy! Copy provided by Edelweiss in exchange for a fair and honest review.
